Immigration to United States - Immigration Link.Com - This paper provides basic information to those individuals who are interested in immigrating to the United States. The Immigration Act of 1990, which mostly became effective on October 1, 199 1, was the most sweeping revision of U.S. immigration laws in almost forty years. The Act increased overall legal immigration to the United States annually by more than 35%, and raised the standard yearly per country visa limit by approximately 25%.
