The Mojave desert is a special place with a diverse group of plants and animals.  The plants and animals have not only over come environmental problems but also problems caused by man.  Each plant and animal has thier own adaptations

Red Spotted Toad-

Warns predators to stay away with its red spots

 

Tortise-

Well protected by its hard shell and an amazing capability to go long without water

Rattlesnake-

Rattle at the end of its tail warns predators to stay away

Road Runner-

Amazing speed and good at withstanding high tempetures

 

Burro-

A very compact strong animal

Blue Yucca-

An amazing ability to conserve water

Joshua Tree-

Can with stand great heat, and is a good water conserver

How Man Has Effected Biodiversity in this Biome

Though the desert seems like a tuff place to live humans continuely move closer and closer to our deserts, forcing animals out and destroying plants.

What Efforts Have Been Made to Protect this Biome

There are a number of efforts to protect the deserts, from putting animals on the endangered species list to trying to conserve plant. life.

What can Outsiders do to Protect this Biome?

People should respect this ecosystem and just remember that these plants and animals were here first.  Most of all people should try to conserve all of the wildlife in this area.
