How does a student receive assignments for an eLearning day?
Teachers will post assignments by 9 a.m. to the Skyward Message Center and can arrange in advance how assignments will be communicated and completed.

How does my student get Chromebook support?
With the launch of the 1:1 Digital Learning Initiative at District 230, every current student receives a district-issued Chromebook. For online support with Chromebooks, students should send an email to help@d230.org with details of the issue. The email must come from their D230 Email (ID@d230.org)

How is attendance taken?
Students will sign into Skyward and complete a form that will be accessible on the eLearning day. Students who are unable to sign in using the form (e.g. unable to access the Internet) should submit an excused absence similar to existing school policies by calling the attendance hotline and leaving a message (the number is located on the school website in the footer) and will have two days to make up any missed work in accordance with Student Handbook.

What if my student cannot find the assignments or needs help navigating D230 systems on the eLearning Day?
Students that need assistance with District 230 specific applications or equipment can email help@d230.org with details of the issue. The email must come from their D230 Email (ID@d230.org). The District 230 Technology Department will NOT be able to troubleshoot personal wireless, devices, or at-home connectivity.

What if my student doesn't have access to Chromebook?
If students do not have access to a Chromebook or other internet-connected device on an eLearning day, they should submit an excused absence similar to existing school policies by calling the attendance hotline and leaving a message (the number is located on the school website in the footer) and will have two days to make up any missed work in accordance with Student Handbook.

What type of device can students use for the eLearning Day?
eLearning day activities can be completed using various forms of technology, such as a D230 provided Chromebook, personal computer, smartphone, or other mobile devices.

What will students be expected to do on eLearning days?
Teachers work to create relevant, meaningful, and manageable assignments for students on eLearning days. Activities will be varied according to the course, subject, skills, and knowledge involved in the lesson.
