Course Selection 23-24'
All students will be meeting with their school counselor to discuss course selection, receive course selection documents and resources, and finalize course selection throughout January and early February. Parent/guardian involvement in the course selection process is vital, and we are here to support you and your student in the process!

Senior Course Selection Instructions & Worksheet

STEPS TO COMPLETING COURSE SELECTION:
Step One: Mark your calendar! Your counselor meeting will be held in the Guidance Office. Dates/Times will be shared during your counselor advisory visits!
Step Two: Review Teacher recommendations are in your SKYWARD PORTFOLIO. If you have questions about your recommendations please speak directly with your current teachers, and see the Waiver Process Guidelines 2023-2024.
Step Three: Explore! D230 has many opportunities and resources to help you prepare for your future!

VJA graduation requirements: When considering course selections, it is very important for you to research course options that will meet and prepare you for post-secondary opportunities.

Post-secondary: Please utilize SchooLinks for career interest inventory results, explore college and career options, and research college and career application requirements.

Dual Credit: Get a jump start on college by completing general education requirements or completing a certificate!

Summer School: Summer school is offered for acceleration and credit recovery. Review your opportunities at https://chsd230.eduk8.me/summer-courses/#
Step Four: Complete the Course Selection Worksheet. Using your grade level course code sheet, write the course title and course number on your course selection worksheet. Be careful to follow your teacher's recommendations.

Step Seven: Individual Counselor Meeting: Your counselor will discuss and review your course selections, make any necessary changes, and finalize your selections. Please bring you completed and signed documents with you to your appointment.
Step Eight: Review course selections in Skyward on Feb. 4th.
