O'Sullivan

Patrick O’Sullivan, who served on the Consolidated High School District 230 Board of Education since 2007, resigned from his post on August 5. He is moving out of the district boundaries and is ineligible to serve as a non-resident.

Over the course of his Board tenure, O’Sullivan, who is a graduate of Carl Sandburg High School, served as President of the Board, Vice President of the Board (twice), and Chairperson of the Building and Finance Committee. In addition to serving on the School Board, he was active as a coach in Orland community youth athletics for many years.

O’Sullivan said, “It is with a heavy heart that I must step down from my position. I would like to express my gratitude to the entire School Board for their support, collaboration, and commitment to the betterment of our schools. I have learned a great deal from my fellow board members, district administration, and staff and have cherished the relationships I have built during my tenure. I am confident that the School Board will continue to make informed decisions that prioritize the best interests of our students and the community. I have full faith in the board's ability to lead and guide the district towards continued success.”

“Pat provided distinguished service always putting students first,” said District 230 Superintendent Dr. Robert Nolting. “It has been an honor to work beside him and he will be missed. On behalf of the entire district, we wish him and his family well.”

The process by which the school board will pick a replacement will be announced shortly. Please stay tuned to the website for details. Whoever is selected will serve until the next election in April 2025.
