Holt

The Consolidated High School District 230 Board of Education approved long-time veteran educator Jame Holt as the new Director of Postsecondary and Career Readiness.

Holt started in District 230 at Carl Sandburg High School as a science teacher in 2001. After spending 11 years at Riverside Brookfield High School, he returned to the district at Victor J. Andrew High School in 2016 as the division chair for Science, Family and Consumer Science, and Technology and Engineering departments.

Holt says, “While my classroom background is in Science, I have spent the past nine years working with staff members in the Career and Technology Education departments to help develop and strengthen post-secondary opportunities for all students. These work experiences have helped me in better understanding the need for postsecondary preparation and development for our students in both the college and career pathways.”

He added that as the president of the Tinley Park Chamber of Commerce, he has developed connections with our community that could turn into an Advisory Panel and potential work-based learning experience opportunities for our students.

Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Services Dr. Anita Huffman said, “Jame’s experience will help expand our CTE reach and strategize our post-secondary experiences. He will undoubtedly elevate the work that has already been done. I am very excited for our District 230 community and students.”

Holt earned a bachelor's degree in Science Education from St. Joseph's College in Rensselaer, IN, and a master's degree in Educational Administration from Governors State University. He also holds an Educator License with Stipulations (ELS)certification in Agricultural Sciences (CTE).
