Winter Guard 25

At the Midwest Color Guard Circuit Championships, held last weekend at Andrew High School, three District 230 students were awarded scholarships.

Stagg High School seniors Evelyn Dalton and Nicole Rudnik, and Andrew High School senior Sophia Fontana were the winning students.

These scholarships reward high school seniors who have outstanding academics, strong community service records, and excellence in their co-curricular activities. Each student submitted an application, including three letters of recommendation, one from their winter guard director.

Winter guard is an indoor color guard sport and performance art derived from military ceremonies. Modern winter guard is a competitive, performance-based activity that incorporates choreographed staging, dance, and manipulation of equipment such as flags or prop rifles.
