Schultz

The Consolidated High School District 230 School Board approved the hiring of Mike Schultz as the new Division Chair for Science, Technology & Engineering Education, and Family and Consumer Sciences at Victor J. Andrew High School. He begins his new role on July 1.

Schultz currently serves as an Instructional Coach and Project Manager for Science at Naperville Central High School, where he has led the implementation of a new science curriculum, designed professional learning, supported district-wide initiatives, and collaborated on course offerings and sequencing to better align with student interests and career pathways. He brings a strong background in instructional leadership and student-centered curriculum design, with a deep commitment to creating authentic learning experiences that engage and support all students.

In addition to teaching, Schultz is an assistant volleyball coach and developed a summer STEM program that pairs students from the Multi-Needs Program with general education peers to engage in collaborative science and engineering activities. Before his tenure at Naperville Central, he taught science at Plainfield East High School.

An alumnus of Victor J. Andrew High School, Schultz says, “I have experienced firsthand the powerful impact of an Andrew education, which prepared me to be a supportive and innovative leader for both students and teachers.”

Victor J. Andrew High School Principal Dr. Abir Othman says, “His experience, ability to develop and lead curriculum, and the passion he has for his alma mater, make this a great match. I am confident he will bring a student-centered and teacher-centered approach to this division chair position."

Schultz holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology Education from St. Xavier University, a master’s degree in Science Education from Montana State University, and a second master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Francis. He also holds a Special Education LBS1 Endorsement from the University of St. Francis.
