The fifth annual Stagg Track and Field Summer Classic Track Meet is a family-friendly way for the Stagg community to bond, socialize and expose the track program to future Chargers.
Open to the public, this year the meet had about 75 attendees, including staff and alumni, and raised $800 for the Lupus Foundation of America. Attendees participated in age-appropriate running events from a 25-meter run for our youngest up to the mile run, field events, long jump, throws, and high jump.
Organizer and Stagg Division Chair Zach Spoor said, "There are two things that I love about this meet, first are the graduates who come back. It is great to see our former athletes and spend time catching up with them. The second is the young kids who participate! The meet has a high turnout for the younger age groups and it is very fun to watch the little ones participate in their events. Generally, it really has had a nice community feel to it in years past."
"I hope participants had a fun evening out with their friends and/or family and feel good about raising money for the Lupus Foundation of America," Spoor added.
