• Stage 2 Handbook

  • Good Evening, Eagle Students & Families,

I send this communication with great anticipation and excitement about our transition to Stage 2 of the D230Proud Reopening Plan!  You should have received a communication from District 230, announcing that District 230 will move to Stage 2 of the D230Proud Reopening Plan on Monday, September 28, 2020.  At that time, Sandburg will welcome approximately 25% of students back on campus per day using the A, B, C, D Blended Onsite/Remote Schedule as outlined in the reopening plan. Those students who chose to remain Fully Remote will continue on the same schedule they have been using since the start of the school year.  As you know, family selections have been made through submission of the Family Commitment Form; thank you to all our families for completing this important form!

To view the student’s hybrid learning cohort group, click on the Activities Tab in Student/Family Skyward Access. Please note that all students have been assigned a cohort.  This did not limit a student/family from selecting the Remote Only option when they filled out the commitment form.  Cohort group assignments cannot be changed under any circumstances.  Remote only students will also be receiving an “R” designation (to be added tomorrow), confirming the remote only selection.

In preparation for Stage 2, we will be having a Parent & Family Town Hall Webinar on Wednesday, September 23rd at 6:00pm.  We have a limited number of licenses, so we will be recording the webinar and posting the recording to our website following the virtual meeting.

Here is the link for the webinar:

Additionally, we share with you a Stage 2 Handbook that has important information relevant to our transition to Stage 2.  We encourage all families to review the handbook for important information related to Stage 2 and in person learning/attendance.

Please utilize the Who Do I Contact resource at the end of the Stage 2 Handbook for questions that you have regarding Stage 2. This is critical because we have many individuals that are available to help our students and families through this exciting transition!

For general questions, please contact my assistant, Karin Yahl, at kyahl@d230.org or 708.671.3111.

It is our hope that many of your questions will be answered if you take the time to review the handbook and/or attend our Town Hall webinar!

We will be communicating important information throughout the course of this week.

I am very excited to welcome more of our students back to in person learning next week!

    Dr. Jen Tyrrell
