Day of eLearning Quick Instructions
The National Weather Service predicts freezing temperatures and dangerous wind chills. Therefore, District 230 will utilize an eLearning day Tuesday, January 21, and follow eLearning day procedures.
The decision to call an eLearning day is as follows:
- Dangerous Conditions - Subzero temperatures potentially expose students walking to bus stops and/or walking to school to frostbite.
- Transportation - Bus companies have concerns about bus reliability due to the extreme cold. Our transportation companies are concerned about driver availability.
- Feeder/Neighboring Schools Alignment - When local districts are closed, it creates a domino effect on our school day. Students and staff responsible for young siblings and children may be impacted by a majority of local elementary schools shifting to eLearning.
Each school will communicate plans for after school activities.
Thank you in advance for your support and flexibility as we navigate this severe winter weather.
