District 230 schools salute veterans

Carl Sandburg, Amos Alonzo Stagg and Victor J. Andrew high schools each held programs for local veterans, thanking them for their service. Students dined with the veterans, breaking bread and hearing stories of their service and sacrifice. At Sandburg, veterans were treated to a showcase of student talent. At Stagg, students in elementary education class taught preschoolers a song of thanks, which they performed to a standing ovation. At Andrew, staff from the Hines VA Hospital were on hand to answer questions and provide support to the veterans.

Members of the Andrew High School Student Council welcome veterans to the annual luncheon. Superintendent Dr. Robert Nolting also addressed the veterans, thanking them for their service.
