Launching new website

As staff and students returned to class following winter break, a newly designed website was launched for Consolidated High School District 230. The new site features a modern design that showcases student life through streaming videos on the front page, bold graphical elements and up to the minute content.

The redesign process began more than a year ago with a staff, student and community feedback regarding what the district should look for in a new web design. A Reqeust for Proposals hit the streets with about a dozen responses from potential web design partners. A staff committee of administrators, teachers and support professionals representing each of the schools and district office then interviewed the top three vendors. Blackboard Communications was selected as the company to partner with on this project.

Over the course of six months, district Technology and Communication staff worked closely with the vendor to develop a custom design that represents the district's brand and meets the needs identified through focus groups early in the process. District and school staff then migrated and developed content for the new websites. This process will be evolving over the course of second semester as we continue to enhance the new sites.

As with any new website launch, there are bound to be minor hiccups in the rollout. Should you come across a broken link, missing information or any other issue, we ask that you complete this quick feedback survey so we can quickly address the concern. You will be asked for the exact URL of the issue, so please be prepared to copy and paste that from your browser.

The innovation does not stop with the creation of the new websites. Over the next several weeks, district Technology and Communication staff will work with Blackboard Communications to launch a new mobile app, as well. Stay tuned for details.
