As you may know, a shortage of qualified staff is impacting our educational system nationwide.  D230 is fortunate enough to have wonderful school nurses serving the needs of your students, as well as additional healthcare providers in our quarantine spaces.  We are looking for Substitute Nurses should any of these staff members need to take time off.  Therefore, D230 is reaching out during this pandemic with the hope that our community members will strongly consider joining our Substitute Nurse List.

How do I apply?

  • Click here and select “Substitute School Nurse” and then click on the “Apply for Selected Positions” button on the top right corner.

How much does this position pay?

  • $140 a day

How frequently will I be called?

  • The frequency will vary depending on the amount of Substitute Nurses and need.

What if I am not available or do not want to work when I am called to come in?

  • No worries, just let the caller know.

Can I only work at one campus?

  • Yes

Is there any special training required?

  • Yes.  D230 is administering BinaxNow, a 15 minute rapid COVID test.  There is a mandatory 60 minute video all persons administering this test must view.  D230 will work with all Substitute Nurses to ensure this training is complete.

Are there additional requirements to be a Sub Nurse? 

  • Yes.  You need to hold at least a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
