Congratulations to the Carl Sandburg High School Debate team on their medal-winning performance at the IHSA state debate tournament at Illinois State University this weekend. The Eagles brought home several top finishes. 

Public Forum Debate:
2nd Place - senior Seth Judd and senior Neil Shastri
Octo-Finalists - senior Yash Rao and senior Niko Delis

Lincoln-Douglas Debate:
3rd place - senior Salma Ahmad
Octo-Finalist - senior Megan O’Sullivan

All State Team Speaker Awards:
7th Place - senior Salma Ahmad
9th Place - senior Megan O’Sullivan

Debate Team sponsor Kristopher Kwak thanked assistant coaches Romana Kovacevic and Amal Abdellatif for their hard work and said, “Excellent debates happened all weekend and I cannot stress enough how proud I am of this varsity team and all they have accomplished this season.”
