Model United Nations earns first-ever Outstanding Delegation at Brown University
Two dozen Carl Sandburg Model United Nations members recently traveled to Providence, Rhode Island to attend Brown University’s 27th annual Model UN conference: BUSUN XXVII. Sandburg Eagles attended the prestigious Ivy League conference and spent the weekend debating and creating several comprehensive solutions to real-world problems.
CSMUN exec members participated in a variety of diverse committees, including the Special Political and Decolonization Committee, the Conference on Misinformation and Fake News, and the Cabinet of 1917. BUSUN XXVII served as a great first overnight for the 2023 MUN year. It allowed delegates to expand their capabilities, having to adapt to an East Coast variant of Model UN. CSMUN enjoyed a weekend filled with real-world problems, challenging debate, team camaraderie, and personal victories.
BUSUN XXVII was a success for Carl Sandburg Model United Nations. Thirteen delegates received awards, with four of them being gavels. Overall, CSMUN won Outstanding Large Delegation, the club’s first team award at BUSUN.
Sponsor Adam Osmanski said, “CSMUN could not be more proud of the professionalism, resilience, and adaptability its delegates displayed throughout the weekend, as well as the hard work put in before and during the conference.”
