Bus Route Information
Dear Students and Families,
We are excited for the start of the school year! Schedule pick-up is always an indication that the school year is just around the corner.
Typically, when students and families access class schedules, they have access to bus route information, as well. That was delayed slightly this year, however, it is available now. We have been working diligently with our transportation providers as they have navigated the bus driver shortage that is being felt across the country. As we address the shortage of drivers, we have needed to get creative with routing options to assure all students have transportation to and from school.
As the school year begins, some buses will have an (A) route (drop off at school by 7:15 a.m.) and a (B) route (dismissing from school around 3:40 p.m). The (A) route will be dropped off at school earlier to allow the same bus to then pick up another route and get students to school on time for classes. In the afternoon, the (A) route will be driven home first and then the bus will return to the school by 3:40 p.m. to drive the (B) route home.
We anticipate that this will be a temporary solution and that once enough drivers are secured we can return to typical route times. Those changes will be communicated directly with the students and families impacted.
A student's bus route is listed in Skyward. Exact pick-up times and bus stops are listed in Skyward in the District Links tabs. We’ve also attached the route schedule to an email sent to families.
It is important to note that (A)/(B) routes are NOT the same as Zero Hour routes. Zero Hour routes will continue to run to allow students who are taking zero hour classes to get to school on time. Co-curricular routes in the afternoon will continue to transport students involved in afterschool activities home, as well.
We appreciate your ongoing patience and understanding as we navigate these pandemic-related challenges. If you or someone you know is interested in driving a bus, we have included contact information for our transportation partners below.
Thank you,
Dr. Robert J. Nolting
Superintendent
